Hey everyone! Just reporting that a root solution for the Active model of the S4 has been released by iOS/PS3 hacker geohot in the form of an .apk (App Install) file!

Here's how to do it:

1. Visit this site on your Active ( http://www.geohot.com/activeroot/ )
2. Tap the 'lambda' and begin the download (the 'A' shaped character that you will see)
3. Tap the .apk file just downloaded and allow any permissions it asks for
4. Run the app
5. Reboot device

have the stock ROMS handy, i may give this a try if a few other confirm it

tried it, it works, it took a while on my device, i also had to reboot per a message that appeared on my phone

i factory reset my phone, im a perfectionist, then reloaded the firmware, set it up again and installed the root software, the root successful message was instant, i can confirm it works and i scanned the apk for nasties and it checked out

Let me list a few benefits:

- Use Ads away apps
- Use Titanium Backup (bkp apps + data)
- Use root explorer (access roots system files n' folders)
- Use apps anti-theft (wipe phone remotely if stolen)
- use apps to transfer from internal to external

and so on...
