Galaxy S4 - Disable frequent contacts in the contacts app

In the favorites tab of the contacts app of the Galaxy S4, there is a "frequently contacted list"

I know how to remove individual entries from this list, but is it possible to hide it completely or stop the app from auto-populating it?

This is an ANNOYING feature. i have often wondered the same thing. I find it useless. And wish there was a way to at least prevent the phone from auto placing favourites in there, especially when I only contact them ONCE and it considerd them a fav
