Galaxy S4 Google Edition: Black screen after Lollipop upgrade

I upgraded my Google Play Edition Samsung Galaxy S4 to Lollipop 5.0. The first time, after finishing with all the upgrade, the screen went all black except for the top line, where the battery, celular, wifi and notification icons appear, so I could not use the phone. After hard reset, phone was with normal screen, using it for a day. Trying to setup VPN, it required a password. I setup a pattern password and immediately after confirming it, the screen went all black again. Nothing I did would let me see the screen content again. Hard reset #2. Help!!

Sounds similar to your problem, and although there are no easy fixes there are some potentially helpful suggestions.

Its probably because of the s-view cover. I had the same issue until i removed it.

It might be due to the magnet that activates the "lock screen" when you close the cover.
