Is there a way to disable this? Sometimes I listen to podcasts and I have to turn the volume all the way up so that they'll be loud enough...

+1 haven't had a chance to search for the fix for this. maybe there's an app for that.:-!

Re: How to turn off the warning not to listen to headphones at high volumes

In get the same notice when I plug in my PayPal Here card reader. Everytime you wake the phone from sleep the reader has to sync and the message "card reader ready" can't be seen behind the annoying volume warning. I need to turn that off for real.

Doesn't matter today as the card reader doesn't work with the S4 yet. Waiting for an update...

Also annoying me, it's definitely not too loud but I keep getting the warning.

This is amazing. Do they think we're 3 years old and have to be told every time we turn the volume up past a child's level? I switched to Android from Apple iPhone and like a lot about Android. But this kind of baby-sitting function is making Android look very bad when its reputation is exactly opposite of this. Are they trying to turn into Apple now?

Have you noticed that even if you pause your music (with headphone switch) and restart it - it restarts at the lower level and to turn it up you have to take the phone out and click OK ON THE STUPID MESSAGE AGAIN??? IDIOTIC!

By the way - this function makes using the S4 COMPLETELY USELESS as a music player for people that listen to music while doing things like riding a motorcycle, mowing the lawn, or any other outdoor activity where you need more volume because of outside noise.

While I agree with you that it's annoying and there should be a work around, it does allow you to raise the volume, you just have to say OK first.

Just be careful with how loud you all listen to your media. I have Tinnitus from my prolonged use of headsets. The scary thing is that you you can damage your hearing from levels that you may consider too low! If you like blasting your music, especially, if you wear IEM's (In Ear Monitors), then you are more than likely on your way to ringing of the ears for life! I would not wish this on any of you so please, take care of your hearing! Tinnitus sucks!!!

It's annoying, but let's be real it goes away. You don't have to click anything... It annoys me too, but I deal with it. I'm still able to turn up my volume, so it's all good.

Sent from Galaxy-Note... The 2nd One!

If that warning is not in place someone will have their earphone's at warp 8 and hurt themselves and Samdung could be held liable. This way, warning in place Samdung has their butts somewhat covered.

The notification comes from com.android.pagebuddynotisvc, which is called PageBuddyNotiSvc in the application manager ('All' tab). You can disable this service, and the notification + shortcut icons in the dropdown menu will now not appear.
Setting > application manager > all > PageBuddyNotiSvc > disable it.

That did not work for me I still get the stupid volume warning

The warning still comes up with 3rd party apps.

Open the stock music app, click the menu button, go to settings.

Yeah, my solution is confirmed to work for the stock music app

Re: How to turn off the warning not to listen to headphones at high volumes

Yup. It's really complicated: You have to hold the volume up button when you press OK to the warning : ) Presto!

I actually want to go a step further and have it go to max volume as soon as I plug a headphone in. Any suggestions or is root the only way?
I never use headphones but plug it into my car and the lower volume never works. Now with 4.3 the pop up stops this so I need to hit volume up, then close the warning, then hit volume up again. Frustrating for every time I get into the car.
