Hey guys,

I have a basically new S4 i9500 international version. Never rooted. I only used it for a day and now when I power the phone on it has the "droid" logo instead of saying "samsung galaxy S4" This is weird since all I did was a factory reset on the phone, nothing else.

Go into your settings about device and see if it says modified

I did go into the settings, not sure what I was suppose to look for to be honest. I don't think the phone is rooted or modified.

I bought it from someone at work. The phone was okay, I rebooted the phone several times and it was starting up with the Samsung logo until I did a factory reset and the language changed to Korean, had to change that. I rebooted the phone again only to see the Droid start up screen.

I'm pretty certain the person you bought it from modified it and either didn't tell you or told you otherwise. There's really no way that a Samsung phone would have a Motorola splash screen

Settings->more->about device->status, scroll down to device status.

Bump...kind of late but I found out then that this phone GT-i9500 is a fake S4 not original Samsung even though it looks exactly the same. I basically got ripped off even as a dealer I couldn't see the difference as there is nearly none.

I'm just letting you guys know just in case you come across this phone. And thank you for your help.
