Galaxy S4: No Recovery!

I have a Verizon galaxy s4. I rooted and after that I have no recovery mode. Every time I try to boot recovery it boots straight to download mode. I recently tried to install the kitkat update and couldn't.

You should be able to find your stock ROM on Sammobile .com, and flash it using Odin.

What are some reasons why odin would fail?

Many. Try updating drivers, and different USB cables and ports.
