Galaxy S4 overheat

My phone was hot when I woke up this morning so I unplugged it from the charger and took out the battery. I let it cool down and put the battery back in but it will not turn on. Is my battery fried?

A failed battery would be the most likely suspect, and relatively easy to test by replacing it. However the battery might simply be discharged so put the phone to charge for an hour or so and see if it recovers. I suggest you monitor carefully for overheating when you try this, and be ready to disconnect charging immediately if there is a problem.

You can test an other charger to see if it still getting hot. What model is your phone?
