Galaxy S5: blocking mode

How do I get rid of the persistent notification for blocking mode? It shows in my notification area at the top of the screen. It's on and set to automatically activate at a later time. But it isn't currently active.

It's always there unfortunately active or inactive according to the times you have set and it blocks the carrier name

It was the same on the S4

I find it so annoying. Why would Samsung do that? When I was at the store I could have sworn I tested it to make sure the blocking mode symbol wasn't there.

I have no idea

Its the same on my wife's S4 active and S4 the little circle with a dash in the middle

I guess it's the same logic as alarm symbol is always there even when not active on eg Saturday/sunday
