Galaxy S5 calendar notifications just stopped working

Had the S5 for almost 2 years... 2 months ago the notifications stopped advising me of preset information on my calendar.... have tried all different time setting (on time, 15 minutes before etc).... still nothing...
It is very annoying and wondering what happened and anyway to fix.... Samsung reps were no help

Same problem here. I think it happened after updating to Marshmallow. Some days it works, most it doesn't. I need it working to remind me to take my medications as I am a cancer patient.

Finally getting around to checking into this on my S5 running Marshmallow...found this old thread. Is there any new info on getting this problem fixed? I can't rely on the phone to promptly notify me of an event that I've entered in the calendar. The AT&T techs did a serious deep dive with some utilities and found nothing. I've called 611 several times, still nothing.
