AC Question

I have had my Galaxy S5 for about 9 months. Up until the past month or so I had no trouble with it. Now when I open apps such as Snapchat, my phone will begin to freeze. It just freezes for awhile and finally will stop but then begin being laggy. I'll exit the app and my homescreen background will change. I'll close the app but it will still be laggy for awhie. It does this a couple times a day and not just with Snapchat. I've cleared my cache data, I close my apps every time I lock my screen, and I have Clean Master to help. I'm not sure why this is happening. I have it updated to the latest version too. And all my apps up to date. Please help with anything. I'm not super savvy with all this either.

Welcome to Android Central! Try wiping the system cache partition, which is different from the app caches: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-10404

If that doesn't work, try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all 3rd party apps. https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-10696

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.

I usually recommend against using Clean Master, since many of its functions claiming to improve performance can actually worsen performance in the long run (like automatically killing apps--that's not how Android was designed to work). See what happens if you uninstall it.
