Galaxy S5 memory usage - lagging, heating and more

Hey there, maybe someone here came across my problem.
My new galaxy S5 seems to run low on memory, I've read that I shouldn't be concerned about memory usage on android devices and that unused memory is worthless memory and so on, but I'm talking about really low memory, it says I have only 100MB of free ram out of 1.7GB, my phone is lagging like crazy, games and apps shut down, and the device is heating up.

When I reboot the device everything goes back to normal, untill, I open a "heavy" game (and making sure it's the only thing that running in the background) like respawnables or Balloons TD5.

I have some battery (Easy battery saver) and memory apps (Clean Master), I tried to "kill all apps" and memory boost, and nothing works, I close the game, I close everything, and it still says that it has 122 MB RAM free, and the device keeps getting warmer, I'm not sure what's happening with the battery consumption because I'm too busy with the fact that my phone's barely working.

Any advice on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated!!!!

do you have a SD card in your phone? if not you should get one and move as many apps to it as your phone will allow or do, and any music and photos can be moved there as well this will help the memory problem a lot. i recommend getting one of the water proof, dust proof, and shock proof (SanDisk) ones just in-case your phone gets dropped and they work much better than the cheaper one. if you have one then i would try a factory reset and slowly add you apps back and see which one might be causing this.

I do have an SD card, but I'm not talking about hard disk memory, I have 26GB free space on my SD card, and on my phone I got more than 10 free GB (I got lots of free space), but the problem is not the memory on the disk, but RAM memory (which out of 1.7 GB I have only about 100 MB free, around 6% free), it's crazy.

Is there any way to see all the active apps in the background, system apps and such and see how much memory they take?

You can click the multitask button, then click the pie diagram to see open apps. If you go under application manager/running...you should see background processes there...

When I press the multitask button, and click the pie diagram I see nothing, it says that there are 0 open apps, but still 1.68 GB of RAM in use (out of my 1.81 GB).
I don't get it, everything is closed, I ran all the "free RAM apps" and still nothing's changed.
Maybe it has to do with a bug in my system? it's weird that games like BTD5 and respawnables would run on my iphone 4 without any problems, but when it runs on my brand new Galaxy S5 it cripples the entire phone.

I've been having similar issues with my ram as well. Lots of free space on both my internal storage and SD card. Along constant mms issues I'm getting turned around on a phone I loved @ first. I don't have a lot of patience when there's so many options these days.

Try factory data reset the phone and if the problem still persists you can try to get a replacement.

I have the same problem too. The day I got my phone I new I was going to hate not being able to clear the RAM. The Galaxy S4 gave me that option. Now, I go to each application and clear the cache and data on some (like google maps, internet, etc). It's annoying.

Search for memory cleaner in the store, I was having the same problem and this tool really helped .... I downloaded Clean Master Phone Boot(its free)

My Samsung s5 is absolute piece of crap. It freezes..takes ages to open up some pages andceven just dies not open up sonetimes leaving u a blank white page so have to restart. It goes gery hot..hate it. Uses all my data within a couple of days of my month and genuinely need someone to help. Is it just me... so frustrating
