Galaxy S5 not updating Android system

Hi, newbie here.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 unlocked AT&T. Provider is Straighttalk. Owned this phone for years. The Android system has not updated beyond ver. 5.0 (not even 5.0.1). Here are numbers that may help provide a solution.
Ver. 5.0
Baseband ver. G900AUCU4BOF2
Kernel ver. 3.4.0-4432708
Please tell me how to get the phone to update to the most recent version.

Last update received for this model was Android 6. Now, AT&T has been known to 'block' updates unless you have an AT&T SIM card in, so maybe that's why it's not showing up if you check via OTA. You can try with SmartSwitch (not sure if it supports it since it's an old device; if it doesn't you might have to look for an older download of Samsung Kies) and update on a PC via USB. If you're in the US, some BestBuy stores have dedicated Samsung kiosks that can help update, as well as (possibly) an AT&T service center.
