Galaxy S5 Versus Note 3

Yes after 6 7 months the problems arrive

Sorry to hear that, that many issues with that many phones makes you wonder what you are getting. Refurbished devices are always touchy but it is likely what you got as a replacement. Best of luck on your next phone.

I'd say if you're only going to have one device get the bigger phone. If you have a tablet the decision may be more complex.

I have an iPad Air 128GB and for me the Note 3 was almost like having a tablet with me so I opted to step back to the GS5 instead. Now I know when the GN4 comes out in the fall I will very much be looking at it again because of the improvements Samsung puts into the GS5 will translate into the GN4 and I will want those benefits along with whatever else they add in. Happy to upgrade every 6 months if I want.

Yeah, I've decided I am going to get the GS5, however I'm not going to request that my work reimburse me for the phone (yet). That way if the Galaxy F or something does come out, I'll buy that and request reimbursement. I actually have a bunch of tablets (5 in total I think), so that did play into my decision.

Re: S5 Versus Note 3

Look I have an unlocked version, of no carrier. The updates arrived for those carrier phones and in other countries, but still we haven't got. Now will you say they have to check for the carrier support? Plus I have faced and still facing a lag problem with more than 3gb of internal memory free. I have lost all my important data from my sd which was deleted by this phonr automatically. Plus I had to change the motherboard within 8 months of purchase. Not only me, many s4 and Samsung users have suffered and still suffering a lot. I myself went to service centre with them. Why all these happen? ? I am talking about flagship phones. Do you expect this from flagships?? I am not making any story, these are all happening.

Update is already rolled out dude.

I got update and created a thread too.Mine is unlocked as well.Use Kies to get update.

We have Galaxy S2 , Note II and galaxy S4 in our home , not even a single issue.Galaxy S2 had reboot issues for a week and I update to jellybean and everything went back to normal.
Note II charging cable was damaged that's all , charger is working fine and earphones not working too.

As far as issues are concerned , Accessories are bad batch for Note II/GS4 (which got replaced without problem) but Phones quality is top notch imho.

Note II is 15 months old , Galaxy S2 is like 30 months old and Galaxy S4 is 7 months old.

Dude , At what place are you purchasing these devices ?

1st of all I haven't got any OTA update and kies has some bug of getting stopped downloading after 48% (my friend also has this issue).

You are lucky enough not to get any problem with your devices. But my s4 s3 note 2 had serious problems at least once. I lost many of my important data due to s4 problem.

I buy from Samsung smart caf?. I don't think that it sells duplicate products.

What's your internet download speed ?
Sometimes servers don't give much time. They have time limit for each download.

I often got errors with Apple updates as well (back when there was iOS 3 and iOS 4 I had slower connection after I reached the cap , then I would update with another connection)

768kbps and downloading speed 80kbps. What you are trying to say is not the problem as I downloaded movies and softwares which took 15 to 16 hours and even more than that. But in this case it says "your device is disconnected" but it's connected and I can see it in my computer after 48%. Don't know what the problem is!!!
Before I had to replace the motherboard, I got kitkat from service centre. But now they also can't do it.

I think your phone IMIE number has some problem maybe.Once check it.

I think that really depends on your preference and main functions that you prioritize.

I can't really judge how S5 will be as I haven't personally used it, but as for Galaxy Note 3 that I'm currently using....

1.) Bad Wifi Reception (2-3 lower bar compared to other devices hooked up to the same router... this may differ between the device.. mine may be bit faulty)
2.) Speaker... meh... simply horrible
3.) Camera.. not bad, but I'm fairly sure that you could do better
4.) Battery.. I'm content w/ Galaxy Note 3 battery
5.) S Pen. if you use it often, it comes incredibly handy.
6.) Screen. I really can't complain about bigger screen. It offers quite bright and crisp display which is awesome for playing games :) I doubt that any better screen will make visible difference.

To simply put, if you want bigger screen and save some money, go with Note 3. Otherwise, I think S5 is mighty better.. or simply wait for Note 4

How is it an incremental upgrade the s5 has a 4 core or 8 core cpu and 16 mp camera and shoots 4k video with fastest camera on the market. Its a thin phone. Have you seen what they shoot movies with its huge its massive and costs big money. This is a thin phone how much better can it get for now.

In 6 months when the Note 4 arrives and takes the best features of the S5 we will say the same thing about it compared to the S5 except we will have a bigger screen, great camera that shoots 4k, equally fast camera, etc.

The

Screen size
Lower battery at 2800 mAh
16 GB of storage

No go for me

Now the S5 will get a 32GB version it will be delayed a month which is SOP for US carriers, DPI isn't a big issue when you are still dealing with 300+ DPI on a phone so really who cares and the Note 3 does have the screen advantage on size and the much bigger battery.

Re: S5 Versus Note 3

Meh.. I will wait for the Note 4. Think Samsung missed an opportunity here.

Apple is in a lull and Samsung could have really put some quality into this phone but chose not to. Disappointing.
Well I read the same thing with the Note 3 in some intances .......... so....... it is just a matter of prefferences ...............
