I had the s4 and the note 3 and i have to say the note 3 is a great phone but i ended up returning it for the m8 as the note size was way to big for me.
Note 3 by far, better screen, s pen, etc. However it is idiotic for anyone to purchase a note 3 at this point when the 4 will be out by October

Not unless you are on JUMP. Getting the Note 3 now would be perfect. You could use it for 6 months andthen trade it in when the new one hits.
Sent from thr Note 3...and yeah, its spectacular.
U may get about $300-350 by then and would have to put in another 200 or so to purchase the phone since it's off contract, correct?
If that's the case then it's a waste of time to do this, because you are essentially paying a few hundred to rent a phone for a few months then trade it in along with more money for the note 4

Since the HTC one is so tall, aren't the sizes of the device, not the screens, comparable?

Not a waste of time if you really want to use the Note 3 for the next 6 months. There realk t isn't anything quite comparable to it, so I could see wanting to get it now and then trade it in for the newer version later.

To each his own I guess, but to pay to rent a phone for six months, trade it in and then pay another 200 to get the new version, instead of waiting the six months and paying once, doesn't make much sense to me

It doesn't, unless you really wanted the Note 3 now.

If you think about it, if you really wanted the note 3,you would have had it already and not waited so long to purchase it.

Maybe. Never know what a person's situation is.

Sorry but your original post did not lay out any specific guidelines.
I never used the spen when I had the Note2 - well apart from playing around with it so I really appreciate the narrower M8.
Fits in the pocket easier and easier to use one handed (apart from the slipperiness.)
I do miss the huge screen on the Note though, the M8 screen still feels tiny even after three weeks of use.
The M8 is almost as tall as the Note 3 (the Note is about 1/4" taller), but is narrower. Note 3 is just about impossible to operate one-handed, M8 is fairly easy.
Ok sorry that I didn't clarify that. I currently own a Note 3 and the reason I wanted opinions from people who own one of these devices so I could get accurate opinions of each device from different people.

For Lebron or Shaq, maybe...
Nope, works just fine for me one handed. You can't honestly tell me that your hatred for the m8 would mean everyone hates it? I think everyone on the ac forums knows, without a doubt, that you don't like the m8. So instead of regurgitating your opinion over and over and over, in a lot of the m8 threads, could you please just keep it to yourself? Nobody in the m8 section wants to hear it, seriously, NOBODY. We like this device, you can not like it and we can still all get along, can't we?

And it would work fine for Shaq and Lebron. I think you missed my point.
Most of the Android flagships are terrible for one handed use. Being able to type on a keyboard at the bottom of a screen one handed is one thing. Things are different when you have UI elements on the top right corner of the screen and you're using the phone one handed in your left hand. I don't have the biggest hands, and the fact that this phone has a 5" screen - which is already pushing the limits of one handed use - coupled with a pretty pronounced bezel under it makes it nearly impossible to use the phone with a comfortable/steady/secure grip one handed unless you have some pretty large hands. On top of that, the phone has a slippery finish on it. Adding a case may add some grip-ability, but it actually decreases one handed usage by making the phone fatter, which means you need even more reach to get across the screen while gripping the phone.
Has nothing to do with whether or not I hate the phone. The phone is big and the Bezel size and placement makes it impossible for me to use it one handed.
Like I said, I can't even comfortably use a Galaxy S4 one handed, due to the screen size. There is just too much reach to get to places where things are on the screen that you need to tap without shuffling the phone around in your hand a lot.
This is why Samsung has kept the menu button in their phones so long (even on the GS5, long pressing the App Switch capacitive button = menu button).
Calm down.
I mean, I never said the phone wasn't one hand usable for you. You can have Lebron sized hands for all I know. I don't know you. I just reject the fact that the M8 is "easy" to use one handed, because its size and the way it's laid out states otherwise. There are smaller phones that reviewers and people complained about one handed usage on, than the M8.
I will keep my opinions to yourself when you start keeping your opinions to yourself, fair enough?
