Galaxy S6 Cell Reception Problems?

I just got my cell signal fixed with sprint. It was mentioned earlier, but there is a important step for sprint users. Goto mobile networks ..turn off intelligent connection optimizer. Then goto preferred network mode and change to CDMA / LTE. It has helped me, hopefully it will help you to.
I have Sprint with the EXACT same issue, I had a galaxy S5, just this weds I updated to the S6, and the signal is TERRIBLE~ my text messages constantly fail / and it always says no netwrk avail.
I had a Verizon 64GB S6 edge, that's right, had, because yesterday after device #2 and the 3rd SIM in less than two weeks, the Rep decided that giving me another device would be pointless and would most likely leave me with a phone that wasn't working. The main problem from day one was that my signal would bounce from nothing to LTE while I was sitting in one spot. First device had the known wi-fi issue and replacement seemed a little better but the signal would come and go just the same. Luckily my phone doesn't ring off the hook just mostly pictures and texting and email so on the replacement the wi-fi worked but if I needed to call someone it was a brick. I loved my S6edge though and now that I've been forced to retreat back to my lame prison of iPhone6 I'm thinking I may just wait out the update. I tried all of the fixes listed here and Verizon opened a ticket and found that it was my device not their towers so I'm thinking maybe going to Best Buy or ordering from Verizon online in hopes of getting a device from a different batch. Originally my iPhone 6 did the same thing, jumping all around signal-wise, went into Apple, they said it was a known issue with a bad batch of devices, switched it out, works like a dream. Why can't Verizon be like that? At least admit there's a problem Verizon!!! The Reps all acted surprised and assured me that they've sold X amount and have never heard this as an issue...clearly from all the forums online, it is an issue.
Also worth noting, my husband has an S5 and with both his phone and my iPhone next to the S6e, there was no signal compared to the others. The one thing the Verizon Rep said was that "Samsung phones don't have a good antenna." They tried to push another device but I've had all the other devices (seriously...I have) and I actually loved this device that I was ready to leave the mundane yet reliable iOS platform for the sake of beauty and freedom.:'(

That work around works in certain areas but not all. If you drive alot, that mode will drop a signal faster than bat man because cdma/lte only works on cdma/lte. And if you go into roaming on a gsm network while on the phone, say bye bye to that call.

Anyone know why (and more importantly, how to fix it) why my speaker phone quit working? Doesn't work on calls or voicemail.
Switched from S4 to S6. Made all the mobile network setting changes recommended here as well as what the Sprint tech had me do. No real improvement. Terrible reception compared to my S4.

Seems hit or miss whether you get this issue or not. I was leery of Samsung as I had heard of RF issues with various devices of theirs. Ive become very pleased with my RF, even better than my iPhone 6+ ever was. Issues always seem hit/miss with these phones. I'd compare them in different signal strength areas. Sometimes cases can affect it also. Good luck.
I am really getting angry about this reception, s6 AT&T, my reception is average at best and there are tooooo many areas where my reception is crap, let is normally 3 bars and then nose drops to regular 4g, I was late in returning in 14 days, so I sent it back to Samsung but they found nothing, but not sure how they test....phone is great in optimum conditions but anywhere less then ideal and areas where my old bb got good to great service is a toss up.....I don't know what to do, Samsung redid the software to no luck....I'm in Philadelphia which has strong lte but this unreliability is killing me.

Sorry you are having this issue. I am on AT&T and have great reception where service is consistent and strong. Since I have had my device, only one dropped call in an area where there is a known black hole and it was at rush hour.
A good thing to know is that those signal strength bars in your notification bar are not the most accurate indicator of signal strength. And they vary between types of phones. 4 "bars" on one device might have the same signal as another with 3 bars.
If you go to System Settings--About Phone--Network it should tell you your signal strength in dBm. Lower = better. What I suggest you do is take your phones using the same carrier to the same room and compare these numbers.

Yeah i have a sprint version and it has connectivity issues I live in a spark city. And barely average 5 up and 2 down 2max actually.

I'm sitting in my living room phone showing 4g lte 4 bars going from -95 to -84....previous phone -67......this ain't good.

Well, it's sprint what do u expect. Hopefully they and Samsung release an update to fix this. It's really draining the battery

anything around 100-ish dBm or below is still considered pretty decent so I wouldn't consider it "broken" or not within acceptable specs, but yes I see your point, it's not as good as 67 dBm

XDA members are really good for digging deep into stuff like this, I went through the attenuation thing with the Nexus 4 during its time and there was a lot of investigation from XDA and google product support forums members to dig through. Unfortunately at the end of the day it all boiled down to LG's antennas plus antenna placement within the chassis on that phone sucking.

With my T-Mobile version it has been good so far. I get LTE in majority of places and it holds pretty well.
My friend on the Verizon version doesn't have issues. She only has complained once about 3g service but said that area is known for bad coverage.
