Galaxy S6 Gallery problem

[Android Central Question]

I took a bunch of photos. Now I can see them on my phone, but I can't do anything else with them. I can't send them via E-mail or text. I can't see them when I connect it to my PC, so I can't even transfer them through a wired connection. How can I get access to my pictures?

Were those pictures taken on a Secure Folder or moved to that section? Do you get any error messages or just the options aren't available?

I used the Camera App that came on the phone to take the pictures. Usually all my photo's upload to my +Google account, but copies stay on my phone. Several that I am trying to send by email are ones that did not transfer to the google account. It's as if my phone selected randomly from my gallery a bunch of photos to upload. When I try to attach the picture to an Gmail I get the message "Unable to attach". When I try to attach the picture to Yahoo mail, it says it's not able to and that it thinks there is something wrong with the APP (referring to the Gallery APP). I noticed recently too, when I tried to play a video I took, it said it had to download the video first, but I only use WiFi and I was in a dead spot so I couldn't download it. I don't remembering uploading the video. I'm guessing the pictures in the same place maybe.

Check that the Gallery app is pulling data from the internal memory and not from a cloud location. You might be looking at what is saved somewhere else and not actually in your phone.

I've attached a screenshot of the settings for Gallery. I can't find the setting your suggesting.

Yup, that would be the Cloud View. If you open a picture that you have issues sharing, tap the menu button (while viewing the picture) and select DETAILS. Where it says 'Path', does it point to a location in your phone or does it just say cloud or Samsung Account or something?

PS: I'd edit out your e-mail account in the picture above if I were you

I downloaded my pictures from the Gallery Cloud and then disabled cloud link. My photos are still gone. I reactivated cloud link real quick to see if they were still there. They were gone. I restarted my phone. Did not help. Where could have my pictures gone?

Also, they are not showing up in the Google Gallery either.

Are you saving pictures to SD Card by any chance? If so, your card might be damaged/corrupted and that is causing data to be lost. Pretty common with SD cards, too (just check the forum threads with 'I lost all my pictures from SD card, help!')

I don't think the Galaxy S6 has a sd card option. I know one doesn't show up when I look at my storage space.

Spook. Thank you for all your help. I'm just going to chalk it up as a loss. For future photos I will just transfer them off of my phone after every set.
