I activated the fingerprint lock. I don't the response so I tried to return the phone to no lock. When I go to the 'screen lock type' screen, it does not offer Swipe or None, they are there but in lightened font. Help!!! I just want to return the phone to no lock. I was able to remove the fingerprints but now the Screen Lock Type screen only offers pattern, pin, password or fingerprints. I want None...but it is in lightened font and says "Turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage. Any help is welcome.

I noticed the same thing, I'll watch to see if anyone has a solution. I don't mind the fingerprint unlock, but I've never used anything with any other devices, I've just used the swipe...

Go to
"Lock screen and security" -> "Other security settings" -> "Device administrators"

Disable all (temporarily) and go back to "Screen lock type" and choose preferd type

Go to
"Lock screen and security" -> "Other security settings" -> "Device administrators"

Re-enable according to previous setting

You have to clear your credentials in the "lock screen and security" then in the "other security" then clear credentials. Then go back and change your lock screen preferences.

Spent couple of hrs working on this...had to figure out the right question to ask but "clearing credentials" worked! Thank u!

OH That worked! Thank you!!!
Is it recommended to clear credentials often?
Also, my fingerprint doesn't recognize & the backup password doesn't work. I never got a PIN so can't use that. Do you know of a solution?
