Android Central Question

Hi, I really like being able to use a phone on my PC using the "Your Phone" windows app, where the screen is mirrored on a big monitor and you can use with mouse and keyboard as if it were a windows program.

I can do this using "your Phone" app on my Galaxy A70, but I don't think Galaxy s6 is supported,
Is there any way to make this work with my s6 like its working with my a70

I would be so grateful for any help and advice you can give me, thanks!

"Link to Windows", the companion app on the phone only supports Android 9 and up. I think the last official OS for the S6 was Nougat (Android 7).

But even among Samsung phones, it does not support the S8 - which does have Android 9 now.

Might want to check out Samsung Flow. Both for the phone and Windows. It also has a screen mirroring feature. You just don't have the cross-platform notifications. I believe its minimum android version support is Marshmallow (Android 6).

Is Samsung flow still around?

Yep. I still get occasional updates on my phone, and the Windows component gets updated a lot from the Microsoft Store.

Samsung SideSync is what's no longer around, replaced with Flow. Although, I'm sure Samsung wants Flow to be replaced with Your Phone and DEX - which I don't really use any of those to any real degree. I just check it out once in a while. I don't need my phone's notifications on my PC. My phone is right next to me when I'm on my PC, and I get most of the same stuff directly on my PC with Outlook, and I much prefer my PC for reading and answering emails anyway without going through the phone. I don't need texts going to my PC.

BlackBerry had a similar setup with Blend for BB10 phones back in 2014-2015. Almost the same thing as what Your Phone does now - with a desktop interface for access to emails, texts, notifications, contacts, and the calendar. Even had a file transfer feature. It did not have a screen mirroring feature. It did initially work over the cellular network, but that feature broke somewhere around 2017, I think. The program itself still works today, but only if the phone and PC are either connected via USB, or on the same LAN with the phone on the wi-fi.
