Galaxy S7 (£440) vs Galaxy S6 (£330)

Hi everyone, about to enter the world of android for the first time and would value your opinions on which phone to go for in terms of value for money. None of the additional features in the S7 are really important to me, but as the price is relatively close I am tempted by the S7.

In short: At what price is the S7 equal to the S6 in terms of price/performance ratio?

Welcome to the forums. I would say kick in the extra money for the S7. The extra bump in battery size makes it worth it over the 6.

Thanks for the replies.

The S7 is absolutely worth the extra money.

Any particular reason? The S7 is £110 more for a slightly better camera + battery and inclusion of a sd card. None of which are that important to me.

Seriously? Then go for the S6 then. Tests have shown the S7 to last far longer on a single charge than the S6. If you're a power user you may be looking at charging 2x a day with the S6. Or more.

S7 battery is substantially longer. The focus speed on the s7 is much quicker.

Battery life on the s7 is much better, in my usage.

S7 also supports fast wireless and is ip68 (water resistant).

If nothing mentioned in this thread is important to you then you might be able to get a mid range phone that could be substantially cheaper.

^what dpham said.

Heck if those don't matter to you why even bother with an S6? A Nexus 6p or 5x would do nicely and cheaper than either Galaxy phone.

Unless there's something specific about the Samsung phones that you like.
