Galaxy S7 Calendar Multiple Reminders/Notifications - only 1st one works

When I create a new event in the calendar and set two reminders (e.g., one for 1 day and one for 2 hours before the event), only the first reminder pops up on time.* The 2nd reminder (the one closer to the event date) never shows up.*

I'm testing a new Galaxy s7 to replace my Galaxy s3 whose calendar worked perfectly for me.
