I swapped my LGG4 in for a Galaxy S7 Edge...am I going to be happy with the Edge's camera? Not sure why they went from a 16mp to 12mp but I guess it should be pretty amazing for a new phone release? The LGG4's camera was also 16mp and it was pretty good. I hope it didn't spoil me for what I am about to own! Any feedback or opinions appreciated!

MP isn't everything you know.

This has a lower resolution than your phone but I'm willing to bet the overall image quality, especially in low light, is going to be way better.

I can concur as the photos from my LGG4 were sometimes too sharp and color washed. I did read that the S7 Edge camera handles low light great but may struggle with bright light contrasts such as splotchy dark colors/shadows? I will certainly put it through it paces, new phone comes tomorrow! I'm just using this thread to help keep me occupied while without a phone...LOL!

I suppose it can do, though all cameras will struggle in some areas. Though the lightroom app helps take care of some of the flaws.

Here is a slight exposure correction I did on a sunset the other day

I did the exact same thing. The G4 camera was good, but the S7 Edge camera is better IMO in terms of color. It's great with low lighting... And how often do you really need 16 over 12mp pics? Me? Rarely. I'm glad with the change.

I've been reading a bunch of online reviews and many others say that that the 12mp camera is great! Maybe even better than last year's 16mp. I guess you just have to take reviews for what they are worth! My GS7 Edge is out for delivery so I will know soon enough!
