I've stubbornly stuck with my note 4 since it was launched and haven't had to wait for a root in years. Do you folks think we'll get a root pretty quickly for carrier versions? Is rooting and loading roms without tripping Knox still a pipe dream?

I only care about T-Mobile but I assume others care about their carriers, so any input is welcome.

Tmobile is probably the most likely usa variant for root.

I think longer waits for roots due to security.

Apparently Blackberry helped make knox for Sammy in a partnership.

For instance Blackberry priv is un rootable still and predicted to stay that way due to how it boots.

It was Centrify that developed Knox with Samsung... Centrify and Samsung

The only 2 models, as history shows, that I anticipate rooting problems with are the carrier minority variants for AT&T and Verizon. Traditionally, on the S4, S5 and S6, these 2 models have initially started off being rootable but after further updates, their mega locked down bootloaders precluded this. Whether other U.S. carriers follow their lead, remains to be seen.
