Galaxy S7 tablet, turn off phone ringing

I linked my galaxy phone to my s7 tablet so I could make calls and read messages. But I can't find a way to turn off/mute ringing or making a tone when a message arrives. I could just turn down the volume on the tablet but I still want my app sounds.
