Galaxy S7 will not auto sync exhange server email

The Stock email from Samsung will not auto sync. If I toggle back and forth between my Yahoo email and the exchange server it syncs. If I turn auto sync off then on again it syncs. But other than that it won't sync. I've refreshed the account twice. Verizon confirms the settings are correct. I saw this problem on this forum on older version phones. Any suggestions?

hi! try to make sure that you have the battery saver/optimization(found in settings) turned off. if that is turned on, it will not let the sync to happen on the background. the only way is to open the email client on your phone for it to sync. Also, try to give it ample time to detect that there are changes in your data. It would not be instantly syncing right after you have made the changes on your data.
