Interpreting tone can certainly be an issue. My apologies. Clearly I read your post as being defensive when it was not your intent.

No need to apologize. I use the case I showed the picture of, above on my S7 Active and I slide it comfortably into my front pants pocket, screen in and I don't find it bulky at all. I, being 67 and having arthritic fingers, have dropped the phone probably five or six times since I got it. A couple of those drops have been the type where the phone has landed on one corner and then cartwheeled for several revolutions and made me think "Crap, that's it - I'm done for" but then I've picked it up and it's been fine both times. Now whether that's the case or the "Active", I couldn't tell you. I just don't think a standard S8 will survive that kind of abuse no matter what case you put it in... that's my advice!
