Galaxy S8 will power LCD for no reason.

My S8 will turn on the LCD and power up.....then after a few seconds the screen will shut off!!

I would love to disable it from doing this!!

Yes its in sleep mode ..............the lcd will just power up......stay on for a few seconds and then shut off.

It only seems to happen while plugged in at various levels of charge.

It could also mean the charging plug is loose, either in the wall outlet or in the phone's charging port. Or that there's an issue with the port, like perhaps some debris in there.

New phone.....none of those issues that you suggested are the problem. Something to do with the phone itself and it's driving me crazy!!!!!

Does it happen in Safe Mode? If not, then something you installed is waking the screen. https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-34283

Looks like it's a known issue acknowledged by Samsung. Get it replaced under warranty if possible.

It charges and holds a charge just fine. No power issues at all. Just an lcd screen that turns on and shuts off all on its own and for no reason.

Well the issue is the screen turns on and off without reason/user interaction that may cause battery drain.
