Galaxy S9 Screen Flickering ONLY on "Always on Display"

If I enable the "Always on Display" feature, and then proceed to that screen, I get a "strobe" like flickering from the screen along with 3 green pixels in the top right corner of the screen. It only happens with the "Always on Display", as soon as I press the lock/power button to display the lock screen, the "strobe" and green pixels go away.
Not a big problem as I can just turn off the feature, but I am curious as to what could be causing the problem.

it could be the always on display theme you are using. try a different one.
