Galaxy S9+ stops playing music/audio/video

Hi.

As the title reads, my S9+ would stop playing music/audio/video at about the 20min mark.

This happens on streaming apps (YouTube, spotify's etc) and also for downloaded video/audio/music files played either using the phone's native players or other apps available on the play store.

For example, on the Samsung music app I even enabled the "music on while screen off" and disable the "sleeper timer" option. My meditation music goes for longer than an hour. The music will stop playing around the 20min mark. When I click play again, it will resume but will stop again after 20min.

Another example is my downloaded Netflix's shows will also pause on it's own on the 20min mark. Click play, and after 20min, it'll stop/pause again.

I don't have power saving mode enabled.

Any ideas what's wrong or what may cause this very annoying issue?

Go to settings, device maintenance, battery, scroll down and tap on always sleeping apps, and check if any of the apps mentioned are in that list. If they are, delete them.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. But none of the apps mentioned above in my posting appears to be on the "always sleeping apps" list.

Technically speaking, when you're not on power saving mode, unless you have previously added an app manually to the list, it shouldn't appear on that list

I had the same problems and this is how I fix it......I Come to find out it was a app that had ads that popped up in the background (go music app) or when unlocking the screen.. i tested it and apps with (ads) in the listing gave me problems ..So in long story short delete the app no more problems I hope this helps

Did you ever find a solution to your problem? I have the exact same issue, except my audio doesn't wait 20 minutes to stop sometimes.

Another problem I have is that sometimes when i'm playing music or videos, the volume all-of-a-sudden will drop low for no reason. Then I have to pause whatever I am listening to or watching, and then play it again. It's so annoying!

For me, a messenger app was causing the problem. removing the Go sms app fixed it. something to do with permissions to stop music for notifications or some such. so try removing 3rd party messenger app.
