Galaxy S9 - Voice to text adds a space and capital letter every time I restart dictation

Is there any way to keep the S9 voice to text from adding a space and capital letter every time I restart dictating? I will often pause in the middle of a sentence to think about the rest before dictating, but when I resume speaking, it thinks I'm starting a new sentence, so it adds an extra space and it makes the first letter of the first word a capital. Super annoying to go back in and fix these and I guess you could say I'm a bit anal about trying to keep my texts grammatically correct.
