Android Central Question

So I was trying to be tidy with my new Galaxy S9+, and once I had downloaded (to the cloud) the photos I shot, I was removing them from the camera (since I have them elsewhere now). Some of the photos I shot I had posted to my Instagram page. I noticed that as soon as I delete a photo from the camera, it also deletes it from the Instagram album in the Galley area of the phone. So the phone was automatically saving those photos to the Instagram Gallery on the phone (I suppose as a handy way to see what you have posted on IG), but cleaning out your photos on the camera also removes the photos from that Instagram Gallery on the phone. Is there a way to defeat this, so the photos remain in the Instagram Gallery on the phone, but can be deleted from the camera? Or do I need to keep in the phone camera every photo I post to Instagram (if I want to have them all appear in the Instagram Gallery)?

Don't delete from thr camera. The camera and the gallery aren't showing separate photos. Even if they appear on both apps, they are only acessing the same thing.
