So I'm driving on the highway a little while ago, just as severe thunderstorms had gone by, I mean, real bad storms.
All of a sudden, Galaxy starts making this warning sound. It was a ringtone/notification sound I hadn't heard before, and it really got my attention.
SO I look at the phone, and its a warning from the National Weather Service about flash floods in the area was in.. I had to press the "view now" icon on the phone to make the screaming Galaxy stop, and it brought me to the text message screen.
I didn't think fast enough to take a screen shot of the first warning screen, but the message screenshot is attached.
I'm thinking, this has to be a galaxy specific,or even a android specific notification, because the notification sound was different than anything I've heard before. I was also not near my home, so it had to be using location services to pinpoint the area I was in.
However it works, I think it's pretty neat.
I would like to know for sure how and why I was sent the alert message though. Just out of curiosity.
