Question Galaxy smartwatch

Hello im,new here I have a problem my galaxy watch will not let me make calls or texts when I'm away from my phone I have lte version and I have a plan for the watch and I have number sync as well I'm with at&t but when I walk away from my phone it disconnects can anyone help

Which generation of the Galaxy Watch is it? They're currently up to the Watch7.
