I have viewed many different unboxings from CTIA to Google I/O, read comments, etc. Does anyone know for a FACT if the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (US) with have a MicroSD card slot or not.

I am really concerned they rare eally going to release this product with no HDMI, no micro USB and no MicroSD? Why would they redesign to blow the pants off the Xoom and leave all of these off?

No one knows exactly what our I/O models are compared to the final release US or other versions. Until Samsung details exactly what the specs are for the US models, anything anyone says on here is pure speculation. The Samsung product page currently does not list specs.

i think everything would be answer in the event that Samsung is having towards the end of the month.

Agreed. Just have to wait and see. A lot of people think that the microSD slot is stacked with the SIM slot, which is why the WiFi units don't have them... Sound plausible, but we should find out soon

yeah thats is true a week n a half would be here in no time.

It is still unknown for now. But it seems that Wi-Fi only version will come without microSD. Not sure about 3G version. If there is no microSD, it will be a major fail.

Why will it be a major fail? I have the Google I/O one and I don't miss the SD card slot at all. I think everyone needs to consider their own needs. Every iPad out there has no SD card slot and I really don't think we can apply the "major fail" label for that reason.

I lived with the XOOM for 3 months with no SD card functionality, an HDMI port, and micro USB and I can say I did not once miss the SD card, only used the HDMI port once to see if it actually worked, and could care less that I have to use Samsung's proprietary USB port to connect to my computer, something I never did with my XOOM (thanks to Amazon Cloud Player and Dropbox).

thats true i don't hear anybody saying that the IPad is a fail because it doesn't have SD support.

The reason you do not hear that from the Apple lovers is they know they will never get it. Steve Jobs will not give out that type of access on an iPad. People do not complain that much about what the will not get. However, when the XOOM has it, maybe not working then the product that is released 4 months later should have it. 32GB for movies, music, mail etc is not that much space. They have not announced the 64GB release date, but having the ability to drop in a 32GB class 6 micro SD card is not that unreasonable. My EVO 4G from a year ago has this functionality from Froyo. If not then my new EVO 3D with 8GB internal and 32GB card will have more space than my tablet that is 4 times as big. What is wrong with that picture. Memory is cheap! A good way to make Apple look bad is release 64, 128 and 256GB tablets. That will get them running for a while.

But that's the beauty of android products in my opinion....... I like the ability to add memory if I want to. I don't like being limited.. what if you wanted to get the cheaper version to save money and use your own memory? I like the idea of being able to add an external hard drive full of movies to my tablet..... maybe that's askng for too m:)uch....?

If it doesn't have SD card or USB it would be a fail because its running honeycomb which is well capable of doing it. I have a xoom and wasn't concerned about having SD card support until I rooted and got SD card support. Now I have to have it. Its such a convenience backing up apps, and saving files without having an external carry around adapter or USB flash disk. Apple I pad has market share so no matter what they come up with people will buy.

Not sure what the official retail version will have but the units they handed out at Google IO did not have expandable memory. This is a bummer if the Tab doesnt have it but given the size and weight maybe they had to leave something out.

I just hope that both the Google IO version and retail get 3.1 soon..

PS.. Would be nice if Google officially supported Micro SD in honeycomb. Seems that Motorola is waiting for Google to implementit for them onthe Xoom. Given the recent revelation about rooted users getting blocked for movies I amnot as thrilled about rooting to get microsd support.

I know the Asus EeePad Transformer has support for MicroSD and I'm pretty sure I read that the Toshiba one has it, too. Motorola was blaming Google for the lack of support, but it seems like it's their own damn fault.

I had heard that Motorola was just waiting till the OS offered native support. Guess the others were not willing to wait around for Google to get to that. Hope Motorola gets their act together soon. Maybe when the Verizon versions get that ellusive LTE update.

The ipads and every android tablet out so far are all fails for not having full size SD card slots. At least if they want to interest photographers anyway. I want to be able to take an sd card out of my camera, and plug it into the tablet to review images. and none can do this yet. I won't but any until one does.

just use a microsd card in your camera. i have a 32gb microsd class 6 (10 is out now) card in my transformer now. i can just put that into a converter card and into my camera without any hassles. I'd rather not have a full sized slot, too big for dust and other stuff when it's empty. Any tablet without at least microSD is a big fail.

The keyboard dock for the Asus Transformer provides a full size SD card reader, though I could see that being cumbersome in the sense that you are wanting to use it.

I've been holding off on buying a tablet for the new Galaxy 10.1 to be released. If it has no HDMI, OK that sucks. If it has no USB, OK even more puzzling. No SD slot, major major FAIL. Not buying. Hopefully official specs are released soon seeing as its supposed to be released in a week and a half...
