Galaxy tab 2 freezes while charging

I'm at a loss here what to do. We drained the battery on the tab the other night, now when we attempt to charge the device the battery icon shows on the screen starting to charge but then the screen goes black and the tab restarts. This then keeps repeating not ever getting any further. Has anyone had this problem?

did you ever find the fix? my samsung galaxy tab 2 7" is doing that now. show the battery charging for a few seconds then the screen goes black, no idea what to do.

Hi! I found a solution for this on my android 4.0 tablet. My tablet came with a charger that looks like a little pin, and then a USB cable for connecting to my computer. When i use the pin charger, the tablet freezes and becomes functionless. However, when I plug the tablet into my computer with the USB it also charges-- without losing functionality.

I happen to have a usb charger for my phone, and that works fine for the tablet without having to plug it into the computer.

Long story short: ditch the pin charger and get a USB charger.
