Hi all,
Just a question: yesterday i was playing around with the tab 3 8.0 at the store, and i went through the settings; it doesn't seem that the multi-user function is available. Why has samsung removed this?

This sounds like it could be a useful feature. Is it something like different user accounts on a computer? Where you can log onto your own profile and have your own settings and such?

Android multi user allows for different users on the same device. Each user can install their own apps, be logged into their own email account, have their own game scores, their own settings, ect. Each user can also have a lock screen to their account if you want to keep it private. Overall, it is a pretty handy feature, and it is a bummer that Samsung has it disabled.

Damn, that does sound like it would be a handy feature. Then both my wife and I could have different accounts on our tablet... And they had this on the previous Galaxy Tabs?

Android multi user was introduced in 4.2, so only the recent tabs have the ability to use it; however, I don't think any of Samsungs devices have it. The only product of Samsungs that does, would be the Nexus 10, but that is only because Samsung makes the hardware for Google. If Samsung actually put TouchWiz on it, then it probably wouldn't either. As far as I know, the only way to have it, is to buy a Nexus tablet, or root your device and flash a AOSP ROM on it.

It appears touchwiz is not ready for multiuser and it got removed. I purchased it anyway. The pluses are more than the cons.
