What did you think of the live event and Jimmy Fallon?

Interesting choice to host the event. I thought he brought some mainstream pop flair to it, but he seemed to have to fake some excitement about things he clearly didn't have a clue about or care about, which I guess is part of his job anyway.

Dunno if it's being a non Murcan , but it was very very cringe.

Knowing he will be the usual brainwashed iphoneist in reality makes it worse.

I did like having a single constant presenter with rotating VP of this and VP of that , just not sure a chat show host was the best for the job.

Yea, cringe is another word I could see applying to it. I'd rather have just had Rick Osterloh run the thing and rotate a few other people in. I guess they did the presentation for the mainstream public as opposed to more techy people. Some of those features they talked about are cool, but likely not that useful in everyday life. The Magic Cues seem great. The camera coach doesn't seem as useful.

Apparently Fallon has done Samsung phone stuff as well. But yea, I picture him as an iPhone person like much of the general populace

I thought it was terrible. I'd rather just have the Google people up there explaining stuff. I agree with the other posters. I thought it was cringe.

Having had more time to think about it, I actually like the idea if not the execution.

The embargo was lifted before the event for the youtubeists, so nerds could get their spec sheet fill that way. And the actual presentation was aimed at the brain dead iphoners to try and capture that market.

Still felt American late night shopping channel and gave me the dry heave. But I think I get the direction.
