Just got one of these to replace my Nexus 7.

Don't like what I see so far.

How do I remove items from the home screen - follow their instructions - when the uninstall box comes up try to move to it - it closes then all that happens is the icon moves.

Ive always used shut app on my samsung phone - doesnt work on the tablet.

Did have a problem with downloading anything from the net - but resolved it by getting rid of the google app and replacing it with the pc version.

Not looking good so far.

It depends on what you want to do with the homescreen apps. To uninstall, long press the icon and hit the uninstall button. If you don't have that option you long press and you should see options at the top of the screen to uninstall the app or delete the shortcut. The process depends on which version of Android is on the Tab. You can also uninstall through settings>Apps.

What do you mean by shut app? Is this for turning off background apps? If so, this can be done by pressing the left button which shows recently used apps. You should then be able to close individual apps or all of them.

Thanks for the reply - more than I got from samsungs own forum.

Removing apps from the home screen is a two handed/fingered operation.

I need to hold the icon with one finger and press the remove/uninstall button.

Closing apps on the recent apps screen doesnt really close them - just removes them from the recent apps list.

They are still running in the background using up battery - shutapl closes them completetely.
