Hello,

I have bought myself a Galaxy Watch 46mm non LTE version.

Everything works fine except for the bluetooth range. I cannot walk from one room to another without it loosing connection to my Note 9, and I do not have a big home. I am talking no more than 5 meters distance from my living room to my bedroom for example. I leave my phone on the desk in the living room, and by the time I reach the kitchen, again, no more than 5 meters away, the watch loses connection to the phone! seriously, I have to keep my phone in my pocket even at home because this thing is not able to keep the connection alive??

I like the watch, the battery life is amazing, but seriously, what's with this pathetic connectivity range? what is this..BT version 2.0 like?

Are you sure it's not a problem with your phone's BT radio? That turned out to be the case with my Note 5 and Gear S2, and warranty exchanging the phone fixed the problem.

How can I test this? I have not noticed any other issues with BT on my phone. Car audio and calls work fine with the phone, BT headphones have no problems, in fact I can leave my phone in my bedroom and go all the way to the kitchen and audio does not drop, and I do not have some sort of high end headphones, just some sony over the ear ones.

You should get better connectivity than that. I only go out of range if I go upstairs. Bear in mind various things can interfere with BT though... Or it could be a fault.
Do you have WiFi at home and have you connected your Galaxy Watch to it? If so, set WiFi on watch to Auto or Always On and when you go out of BT range, your watch will still connect remotely.

I found the BT connection a bit so and so as well, I could go out in the kitchen and it would disconnect but if I went upstairs it would be still fine, it seem to have gotten a lot better since last update though

Keep in mind Max range of Bluetooth in an open field is considered 100m. Physical barriers, phones radios, antenna and other things affect your signal I don't think I own a Bluetooth device that will stay connected even 50 meters (over half a football field for US users line myself). I will say the watch is more prone to drop out in certain areas but my Bluetooth headsets often drop in the same areas.. WiFi works great. I have left my phone in the house and dropped Bluetooth and still get notifications in my yard cue Bluetooth..

So just to understand - If I use WiFi, will text messages also be pushed through from my SGS8?

I recently switched to Samsung smartwatches from Wear OS devices. I have a Gear Sport and a gear S3. Both have what I would call short BT range. They even disconnect, while line of sight, if more than 10 feet away from my Note 9.
By comparison, the Wear OS devices, Samsung Gear 2 Neo - running Android Wear, Ticwatch E, Fossil Explorist Gen 3 & Fossil Marshall Gen 2 all had longer range, with the same phone.
Kinda disappointing, but I do like the responsiveness of the Sammy watches. The Wear devices were all pretty laggy.
First world problems...

I hear you, I have exact same issue, I have Galaxy watch and note9 and I like to leave phone in bedroom (small single story house) and I as soon as I step into my kitchen I lose bt connection. This drove me crazy because my huawei watch (Wear os) and 4 sets of bt headphones and 2 bt speakers all work perfectly anywhere in my house. Iove everything else about the watch but Bluetooth radio sucks ***.!

Same here. Battery life is great, watch is awesome, connectivity spotty. I went on a walk with the Galaxy Buds connected and it kept cutting in & out when I swung my arms back & forth. I recently got the GWA2 and it has BT 5.0 compared to the GW 4.2. No connection issues so far.
