I'm thinking about trading in my watch 6 for the watch 7 ultra but I noticed that the 7 ultra is only the lte version? No bluetooth only version, so can it be used without a sim subscription and just on bluetooth?

I think Samsung originally developed it as a novelty to catch your attention, something out of the norm.

As @notforhire stated, navigation ease. It replaces swiping in certain places.
I am the worst at swiping on my watch. I seem to always overshoot where I want to be. It's easier for me to just turn the bezel.

You can also use it to:

• Answer or dismiss a phone call. Dismiss a reminder.
• Increase or decrease brightness or volume.

Those are the features that I use.

So it's just personal preference. You don't really need it, but you might like using it.
Thanks for the detailed description. I had no idea the rotating bezel offers so many features. I'm sure I would like using it.

Upgrading from 5 Pro to the Ultra. $350.00 trade in and $50.00 reserve credit was hard to pass up..
Yeh, I had originally included the Ultra in my order for Z Flip 6, then found that I could order it separately with trade and get an extra band thrown in free. Went to the Z Flip 6 order, cancelled the Ultra on that order, and reordered separately with the trade for my Watch 5 Pro.

Watches have been one trick ponies and I see no reason to upgrade my S4 or S5 Pro.

I actually kind of regret giving up my Gear3.

New watch needs to either have battery life like a Nokia from 1990 or so something so outlandlishly cool that I don't even know what that is at this point.

odd thing I noticed.....the Ultra is only available in LTE, not BT only. figured both would be available.
Thats how you justify a price increase without having a real reason.
You can use it in BT only mode if you so chose.
Yet they will still charge LTE prices. The consumer friendly route would be to have it be BT and the eSIM blacklisted until you go to the carrier at which point you pay a "conversion fee" but we know that won't happen.

From what I saw when ordering the watch, it is both Bluetooth and LTE. So you can use either one. That is how I understood it.

Of course you can use just BT.......OR add the IMEI of the watch as an add on device to your existing carrier and get LTE. Looks like VZ would be about $7.50/mo. if I went that route. BT is just fine...

Regarding the rotating bezel discussion, while the Ultra does not have a physical rotating bezel, it does allow for virtual rotational swiping around the edges of the screen. It's just another way of moving between the different tiles available on the watch. Some people really like that swipe function, others just don't use it or find it annoying. You can go into Settings and disable the virtual bezel navigation, if desired.

I used the virtual bezel when I had my Watch 5. it might have been pilot error, but it wasn't nearly as precise as using the rotating bezel. but I still think that style is the cleanest/sleekest looking watch out there.

100 percent buying the Ultra. I had the Apple Watch Ultra before moving back to Android and I loved it. Didn't realise how much til I sold it. Currently using the Galaxy Watch 6 and it's ok at best. I'd should have got the Classic as I do prefer rugged style watches like Garmin Fenix etc and it looks too small and plain for me personally. Add the fact it only took weeks for it to get scratched up and look horrible. Apple Watch Ultra was a tank. Mine never had so much as a blemish or a micro scratch after a year of beating it up at work so hopefully the Galaxy Watch Ultra will be close at least to that with the Titanium chassis and sapphire crystal glass. And of course it looks awesome

I agree about the style. My sister has a Watch 5 & it somehow looks naked to me without the rotating bezel.

For some reason, I can not dismiss phone calls or reminders on my Watch 6 using my finger. Doesn't matter how much I slide, swipe, drag... ☹️. I need the bezel to dismiss them. I must be swipe deficient. 😄

I ordered the watch 7 40 mm. I like a smaller watch since I have small wrists. With trade in, it was $49 plus tax. My watch 6 is okay, but for whatever reason I never liked it as much as my Active 2. Maybe watch 7 will be just what I want. I really don’t like the larger watches. They look like a brick on my wrist.

That's a great price! 👍
