Galaxy watch battery usage

I got my galaxy watch on monday, running the latest software. Since then, the watch is using about 40-45% of battery every day. It is the 42 mm version. Only the Bluetooth is on, wifi, NFC and GPS are off. I use the watch mainly for calls, e-mails and notifications. Samsung health is using most of the battery, HR is on every 10 minutes. Is this normal, or is there a way to reduce battery usage?

That sounds about normal, though maybe on the low end of normal. I have a brand new 46 mm watch (brand new because I recently got a warranty replacement, ironically for battery issues). I have continous HR, and use the always on display, and I lose about 30% per day. Without the AOD it would probably be 15-20% I've found that continous HR takes very little battery power, so you might as well turn that on.

40% for the 42 mm seems normal. 45% may be a tad high.
