Galaxy watch draining phone battery

My galaxy watch is draining @ a alarming rate faster than the watch battery. But when I'm connected to any other bluetooth device the drain is non-existent. Can anyone help me with this problem?

To do a fair comparison it would help if you tell which model watch and which model phone you are using. Others with the same configuration can then compare and react.

I found that after I installed the required Gear Nav so I could use Google Maps, the Gear Nav app was draining my phone battery. i just opened the app and check no on everything. When I actually use it next spring for motorcycle trips, I will turn on the features required

Sprint galaxy s9 plus. 46mm bluetooth only version.

I have note 8 & galaxy watch with LTE paired and notice significantly lower battery on phone. On VZW.

With my note 8 I do notice more battery drain but Bluetooth is on always, not sure if there's other background processes related to the watch running causing more drain as well but it's not massive just noticeable

LTE takes a lot of power and more when the signal is week.
