galexy S7 when sending pictures reciever only sees a portion of the pic but its enlarged

Galexy S7

1. when I send a pic through messenger or txt message the receiver only sees the top left hand portion of the total picture but it is seen by them as that is the whole picture sent. like it has enlarged the top corner portion and sent only that. looks fine at my end showing the whole picture in the thread.
I may also have another issue with messaging but may not be related
2. that is all messages sent appear like they have been sent twice on my thread
hope someone has the answers to solve this glitch that I am stuck with

Welcome to Android Central! Can you clarify -- this happens with both Facebook Messenger and the stock Messaging app? The two issues you mention are relatively common complaints with FB Messenger. If this is also happening with the stock Messaging app, see if it goes away when you uninstall FB Messenger.

yes both I will try to uninstall FB messager ,although I want to keep some of those messages , is this possible

I don't use FB Messenger, but if those are FB chat messages (as opposed to SMS messages), I'm guessing they're associated with your FB account, so they should still be visible if you went to Facebook on your computer browser and clicked the Chat button there.

yes you are correct, so I will now try deleting app off phone and will see if that fixes the problems

sorry to say it didn't fix the problem when sending pictures. still the same problem of the picture received on other phone is still enlarged to the point that it is unrecognisable but I can tell it is still just the top left hand corner of the pic enlarged to the whole screen of the receivers phone. Its kind of like it is sending the pic in massive detail and the receiver only can see some of it as it is too large a file for some reason? Any other ideas

Hmm, and you've completely uninstalled FB Messenger, correct? How are you attaching the photo? Are you starting in the Messaging app and tapping the Attach Photo button, or are you starting in the Gallery app and selecting a photo to share with Messaging? See if the same thing happens both ways.

Yep, completely uninstalled then restarted phone and re installed as I said that solved the double up problem. I have tried sending pic both ways from messenger and from gallery and same problem both times as I said think its sending pic file as oversized or something like that. think my gallery pics are wrongly sized????

Wait a sec -- you reinstalled FB Messenger? If that app is primarily responsible for the pic size issue, then I'd uninstall it and keep it off the phone, then see if pics send normally using the stock Messaging app.

I have now tried many combinations of sending.
So here is what I have found.
Yes it is directly related to FB messenger. i now still have messenger installed, I can use it off the FB app but kept my default messages as message 'default program app'
(this was never a problem before but its FB messenger so like you say who knows wot they do)
I now just have to remember to send any pics, how ever I do it, thru standard messages app

Great! Since this seems to be a fairly common complaint about FB Messenger, I suggest sending feedback to the developer so that they realize what's going on, and hopefully fix the problem. There's probably a feedback option in the FB Messenger's own settings menu.
