Gallery App Auto-Adjust save to file?

The gallery app on my S7 has a "Auto-Adjust" button which seems to lighten up the displayed picture. I don't see a way to have the app save this adjusted image to the jpg file for the photo. Is this possible? Or, does this happen automatically?

I'm always using snapseed to enhance my photos and it does what you want,you can find it here:

It's automatic. As soon as I auto adjust something with the galley app it causes the auto-adjusted photo to show up in Google photos app. So it is creating a copy somewhere on the phone.
