Gallery is not showing media

I just noticed today thaty gallery app is not showing any media.

Try this: Open My File and make sure it set to show hidden files. Then look in the folder containing the photos and make sure there are no files called ".nomedia".

If there is a .nomedia file, delete it.

I would like to know how you get on with this. I have a brand new Vphone-x3 running android 5.1 not even a week old. I can't access any photos in gallery whether they are from the camera or not. I can't go into file manager because it is empty when opened - and I can't access the phone from my pc because of a MTP USB driver issue which I have been unable to resolve. Very unhappy and thinking of buying a screen for the old phone instead.

Welcome to Android Central! It might be better to create a new thread for your question, since you have a different device with a different Android version.

Sorry for taking so long. I was just very reluctant to delete everything on my phone. After a did a factory reset, everything is working fine again! And when I downloaded my old photos from one drive / Verizon cloud, they showed up in the gallery with the original time stamp.

Factory Reset solved the problem!
