For anyone having the Gallery issue after the update here is what I did and it seems to have fixed it. (at least for now)
When I would go to open the Gallery it would immediately close, no FC or message, just close.
After reading many threads I finally decided to copy all the contents of the SD card to my computer, un-mount the SD card, and then let from settings/SD card chose format the card. Once that was done I copied all the files and folders I copied off back to the SD card and rebooted the phone.
My Gallery now opens and I am able to see pictures. Let me know if this works for you. If anything changes I will post an update.
