gallery not displaying all photos

When I use a file manager there are more photos in my folder then there are in the gallery under they folder. What's going on here?

Hmm mounted to PC and unmounted. Didn't do anything. Mounted again a changed file names on PC unmounted and was fine.

What are the file types of the photos that are not showing up?

Jpeg. Sent from another nexus through text. I think maybe it was having s conflict in names since mms likes to name files the same thing over and over again.
