Gallery not working after update

Hi guys,

I had this same "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped" problem when I first got my phone early this year (on 4.2.1). After I modified the buildprop it worked (a long with pushing some lib files replacing the Gallery.apk)

Since I updated to 4.2.2 yesterday, this problem returned. I tried doing the same steps I took above to get it to work but with no avail. I would like to get the build.prop for 4.2.2 to see if it matches what I have (as last time I had a couple of lines missing and once added, the camera worked).

Can someone help solve this error please?!?!

Do you have a custom ROM? I'm willing to bet (actually I'm not ) that it's somehow tied to you being rooted.

no custom rom, stock and rooted only. Prior to rooting after I updated to 4.2.2, I was already getting the error message though, so I don't see how it is a root related issue :-/

Ah sorry, I assumed you had already been rooted. And since you rooted (and I'm guessing unlocked) after getting the error, you must have wiped the device, meaning that a factory reset didn't help (though you may want to reset again just to be sure). I'm not sure what can be causing this; I'm only speculating.

I was rooted prior to updating, had to unroot in order to update, once update was applied I rebooted and I got the error message. I then re-rooted and continued with that and the android is updating messages.

I've tried installing the 4.2Camera_t04.zip file to see if it solved the issue but no luck.

I hope someone can help me with this issue, being cameraless is so not fun lol

I have attached an image of the files that seem to appear at the end of my system folder , is that normal?

I applied the attached patch and camera is now working perfect!
