Does anyone know why the option to "change background effect" is only offered on certain pictures in my gallery and not all? Example attached

I believe it has to detect a face if you didn't use 'live focus' when taking the photo.

Thank you! You're right, it's only there when I use "live focus" mode. This was driving me nuts... I love being able to change the type of background effect directly in the gallery without using a separate app

Just a word of caution I believe its only Samsungs gallery that can adjust the background, once you transfer the photo to a computer or other device you can no longer modify the background blur.

Google Photos can also do it, if its AI determines that it's a portrait-style shot. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way for the user to force it manually. https://9to5google.com/2019/12/11/google-photos-portrait-blur/
