Gallery question

I'm on Verizon running the latest update pushed today. I have a question about the Gallery app. In the Albums view, pressing the menu key shows one of the commands as "Hidden items". Selecting this command displays a message stating "No hidden items".

My question is, how do you go about hiding items using the stock app? I'm aware that Quickpic does this. I'm just trying to figure out how this command in the stock gallery works.

Can you longpress an image thumbnail and see if an option pops-up to hide it? See if that works.

I can't figure it out either. I would love to be able to hide photos!
