I would like to see only my main folders in the gallery app but currently it shows 100+ folders from both internal and MSD card.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately that's the default behavior of most Gallery apps...they'll show you all folders with media in them. I can't remember if there's a way to show only images instead of folders on the V20, though, but that will still show the media in all the folders, just lump all images together.

There are two options:
1) Use a 3rd party Gallery app that supports hiding folders (not sure which one, I've never used 3rd party ones, however).
2) Place a NoMedia file inside each folder you want to hide from the Gallery (a file named '.nomedia'). This will hide the folder from the Gallery, but can still be accessed via a File Manager.

Why not just use the lock feature in the gallery? Click on the three dots when you are in the folder in your gallery and select the photos you want to lock and then lock them. Then you can only see them when you select "see locked photos."

Should either place them up top on the list or if there's a filter/feature to just see preferred/starred albums.
It seems to slot an album in just below the camera album. Maybe the OP could use this feature to pseudo-sort albums.

I tried to set main camera 'gallery' as a preferred album but I guess since it's in external memory it won't do it. I never had this problem with the Note phones. Weird

I have too many photos to select :(

I really, REALLY suggest you either change your camera storage to internal memory or make absolutely sure your pictures are being backed up constantly to the cloud or a hard drive. SD cards are NOT the most reliable thing. Off topic, I know, but just had to say it :P
